NEWS
ART ON THE COMMON 18 - 19 SEPTEMBER 2021
Harpenden Art Club members had fun displaying some of their work at the Art On The Common event on Harpenden Common over the weekend of 18/19th September. It was enjoyable to meet and tell people about the exciting new programme of art workshops and demos that are planned for the new season. The Saturday was gloriously sunny and very busy, but unfortunately heavy rain was forecast for the Sunday, so reluctantly we decided not to set up our large tent on that day. Many thanks to all those who helped and visited us.
COMMITTEE NEWS
Three of our long serving committee members stepped down at the AGM on 27th May 2021. Chairman Roy Bentley, Programme Secretary Yvonne Bolton and Brushstrokes Editor Bel Bluemel (picture here in the front row) retired after many years of hard work and dedication on the HAC Committee. We thank them immensely for their time, and wish them well in their continued creative pursuits.
We are fortunate that four new committee members were elected at the AGM: Fiona Gaskell, Bridget Bucktin, Susan Dean, and Michal Parr. In addition, Debbie Knight was elected as our new Chairwoman. We are lucky to have a thriving, engaged membership and are looking forward to all the challenges and activities of the new season. HARRY DOBKIN
With great sadness, we announce the death of our friend and well respected Honorary President, Harry Dobkin. It was a privilege to have had his involvement in the Harpenden Arts Club for so many years. Rest in Peace Harry.
