Harpenden Arts Club Annual Art Exhibition 2016

Wow! What a busy weekend that was! We had SO many visitors to the exhibition!

Whilst the final results of the exhibition are not confirmed yet, we do know that the number of people who visited the exhibition was around 60% higher than last year! That is quite amazing! So we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for helping to spread the word, for talking to your friends and neighbours
As far as artwork sales go, following a slow start, we had a great rush of sales on the Sunday afternoon, presumably as people made up their minds after thinking about possible purchases from earlier in the exhibition. Special congratulations should go to two of our younger new members, Jenny Robinson and Yan Yun Gao, who made the most artwork sales (framed and unframed) at 5 paintings each! And also congratulations should go to the two of our more experienced artists, Jan Munro and Judith Moule, for making the most sales by value. Don’t you just love all their art? I do! Furthermore, almost half of the exhibiting artists sold at least one artwork, which just goes to show the wonderful diverse appeal of our exhibition.

Possibly more to the point though, is that all exhibiting artist’s work looked amazing! We had so many lovely comments about your accomplished and exciting array of artwork, for instance:
“Vibrant and exciting show – lots of talent!”
“Very high standard, congratulations to all!”
“Brilliant contrast and fine work!”
“Very inspiring!”
“Wonderful layout and variety!”
So do keep painting and creating, and keep exhibiting your work!
